Toshiba recently announced that it has completed the Toshiba Wireless UWB Port Replicator. This port replicator is the latest in docking technology. It allows fast transfer of baseline video with SXGA resolution and is useable with Portégé R400-S4834, Portégé R400-S4835 and Portégé R400-S4933.
Actually, this UWB Port Replicator is the first to stream baseband video. It allows streaming of unencrypted or uncompressed video in a fast manner, making transfer of real high quality videos in different formats possible. The process reduces generation loss and file corruptibility chances.
Users can now connect their devices wirelessly to modern peripherals. The process of connecting and even disconnecting to monitor, mouse, keyboard and even HDD drives and other external devices is made a lot faster and therefore friendlier and easier.
UWB is proud of its USB v2.0 ports. It is also equipped with an audio port, video port, Ethernet port and a Kensington Security Slot
Toshiba’s UWB Port Replicator is a compact device. It is engineered to have a form-factor that delivers drastically condensed footprint. The device detects and connects to a nearby Portégé R400 automatically. This UWB Port Replicator is also configurable to perform in a shared environment, enabling a work on one-to-one resource network a breeze.
Tagged at $499.99, the port will soon hit the market. It will be available as a supplementary device to the Portégé R400-S4834 and Portégé R400-S4835 convertible notebooks. The Portégé R400-S4933 already comes with the basic UWB combined with external USB DVD Optical Disk Drive and secondary 6-cell Lithium Ion battery. It can be yours for $3,699.
