Sony unveiled an ultraportable laptop dubbed as the VAIO TT. This new mobile computer weighs only 2.9 pounds and measures less than one inch thin.

This is the first 11-inch ultraportable laptop that integrates Blu-ray technology. Replacing the highly advcanced Sony VAIO VGN-TZ298N this new laptop promises to be the next talk of the town gadget.

The VAIO TT series of computers sports super bright and yet energy efficient 1,280-by-768 display. This is because of the LEDs placed behind the screen. It also runs two 128GB SSD drives that can be configured to run either in RAID 0 or RAID 1

Aside from the Blu-ray reader/writer, the TT laptop also has an HDMI-out connector. With this, users can use the computer as a player and out its video to a more watchable screen that can handle a 1080p resolution.

This laptop is powered by Intel’s Centrino 2. It comes with either Windows Vista or XP preinstalled OS.

VAIO TT is available in Carbon Black, Silk Black, Champagne Gold, and Crimson Red.

VAIO TT is tagged at $2,000 for the basic configuration. The price increases $250 per one 128 GB SSD drive addition. This makes the 128-GB SSD version be tagged at $2,750 and the 256GB SSD at $3,000.
