Not every good release comes with noisy announcements; a fine example would be Netgear’s Coax-Ethernet Adapter. Tagged as the MCAB1001 MoCA Coax-Ethernet adapter, the device was among the many peripherals that the company announced during the 2009 CES.

MCAB1001 MoCA Coax-Ethernet adapter allows you extend your network using coax (co-axial) outlets. This can be used on HDTV, Blu-ray player, DVR, or common game consoles to your high-speed home network and Internet and more. Because it is coax it should work faster and it should be more secured.

The secret of the device is its ability to extend Ethernet signals over existing in-wall coax cabling. This makes transferring of web content, Blu-ray / DVD material easier.

The device is currently tagged at $229.99
