myspace logoIn an effort to further make their social networking service even friendlier, MySpace partnered with other huge websites in the so-called OpenID alliance.

This alliance would permit users of one of the largest social networking sites, MySpace, to log on other web sites without undergoing a long registration process.

Instead of needing a new and unique username and password, users would instead enter their OpenID account login details. After which they will be able to use the website’s features like a regularly registered member.

The site’s management is very positive about the effects of their move. A lot of websites are now joining the OpenID alliance due to its very friendly system.

MySpace is also taking part in the move of Flixter and Eventful to transfer MySpace member’s profiles and information into the said movie discovery and event tracing and planning websites.

MySpace members can now log on to sites that are termed “relying parties” under the OpenID system. Although the new system still prohibits users to access MySpace through their OpenID log in details, from other websites that are considered “providers.”
