If you think that Firefox 3 is already astounding, wait until you see Mozilla’s Aurora concept browser.
Aurora is unlike any other browser. It was engineered with the intent of creating what the Web of the future will look like. Talking about Web 3.0 perhaps, the browser has integrated Web and desktop functionality to give an interface that appears to be three dimensional.
The aurora concept browser is an open source project. And as such, Mozilla Labs call for developers and enthusiasts to work with their teams to help shape the direction of the Web.
Mozilla Labs stated in their blog that the idea of Aurora browser is to bring even more people to the table and provoke thought, facilitate discussion, and inspire future design directions for Firefox, the Mozilla project, and the Web as a whole. And with the way that the Aurora demo video appeals to many, Mozilla is not far away from achieving that.
Based on a demo video released by Adaptive Path, Aurora browser will allow extensive interaction between two people working in different areas while surfing the web. Through the browser’s high integration with desktop, a surfer can communicate and share whatever is on his/her desktop almost instantly with another party.
The browser also sports some features such as automatic graphing of data, and instant browser entry highlighting.
The Aurora browser has the shelf where users can access their frequently used objects. It also has the History Stack, much like browsing history; it is a list of recently used computer objects. The right side of the browser hosts the User Stack, a temporary storage space for things that you may currently be working on.
