The Mozilla Labs experiment on a system that will allow users to multi-task without having to work or click exhaustively paved way for the Ubiquity. Ubiquity is Mozilla’s latest invention that allows users to control the web browser thru simple and easy to understand language-base instructions.
Thru this system, users will just type words, telling the browser what it should do. Instead of clicking and navigating the browser interface thru a mouse or a touchpad, users will virtually chat to their web browser and give them commands in the form of typed words.
However, Ubiquity is not totally ready yet. This is what Aza Raskin, head of user experience at Mozilla Labs said in his blog post. “We have made the ultimate faux pas of putting hyphens into what should be natural language,” he added.
Ubiquity 0.1 currently allows users to map and insert maps in web browsers. There are currently a few commands that Ubiquity can perform. The developers however encourage other open project enthusiasts to be more creative and aid them in the project.
Ubiquity opens a lot of possibilities, so it would be safe to say that the introduction of the system is only a beginning.
