Some motherboards may have on board audio, and these boards can have some problems with Device Manager errors.
Audio devices will not work and device drivers can not be found on your system. This problem is usually a result of the operating system being installed a second time without installing the device drivers for the motherboard chipset. This error can be very frustrating, but it can be fixed without too much of a hassle.
One possible solution is to simply reboot your computer, and see if this fixes the issue. Another method that may work is to allow Windows to detect device drivers again. Audio device drivers can be corrupted, and if this happens they may not work at all. If your computer has not had Windows installed again recently, this may be the case, and there are a couple steps that can remove the corrupt drivers and replace them with good ones.
Open the Device Manager on your PC, go to sound, video, and game controllers, and remove any and all devices that are showing in the section titled other devices. After all the devices are removed, reboot the computer. This will allow the Windows operating system to detect any available audio device drivers.
If neither method above works, you may have to install the motherboard chipset device drivers to fix the audio issues. Most computers purchased new come with a motherboard CD which contains all the necessary device drivers for the motherboard chipset. If you received this CD when you received your computer, you are in luck. All you have to do is install the motherboard chipset device drivers from the CD.
If you do not have the CD, however, it may take a little work. Contact the manufacturer of the motherboard to obtain the chipset device drivers from them. If you have tried everything else and nothing works, the problem may be with the sound card device drivers. This is usually the last thing to check, but the sound card device drivers can usually be found easily at the website of the computer manufacturer.
Try downloading the sound card device drivers and then install them, and this should fix any audio device driver problems remaining. After all of the repair methods listed are tried and you still have problems, the issue may be due to hardware, such as the speakers or wires.
Device driver errors in the Device Manager can cause many users to feel aggravated and unsure of what to do to fix the problem. If there is on board audio on the motherboard these device driver errors can occur more frequently, especially if the device drivers are corrupted or missing. This problem is not fatal though, no matter which device drivers you need. Fixing these issues is normally a simple matter of finding and installing the correct device drivers with no corruption. These drivers can normally be found either on a CD or online easily.
