The Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro is a great replacement to the iSight. One of the top makers of PC cameras, Logitech is set to launch its QuickCam Vision Pro Mac version. This is one news that Mac users can smile about since Apple has no plans yet or whatsoever of putting cameras into its Cinema Display LCD monitors.

Mac Pro and Mac mini users have no option but to settle with the not so lucrative iChat’s video or Photo Booth. And Logictech’s QuickCam can certainly extend Mac into a friendlier and more powerful social machine.

This is not the first cam for Mac of course. Apple used to have the iSight camera that silently died in 2006. The QuickCam Vision Pro has a very classic design, although in terms of aesthetics, it may not be a total complement to iSight. After all, only Apple knows Apple completely.

The QuickCam Vision Pro is boasting a 2 MP image sensor. It can capture 720p HD video or 30FPS VGA video. The 1600×1200 resolution for still images is pretty amazing. It also has the Carl Zeiss autofocus technology, RightLight2 exposure system for lighting and an integrated microphone built to facilitate video conferencing among others.

The Windows QuickCam Vision Pro is tagged at 129$. But Logitech smartly added $30 for this Mac-only version, so this iSight’s replacement QuickCam Vision Pro will actually cost you $159.
