Hewlett-Packard Co., makers of printers, computers and peripherals boasted that its latest laptop computer can continuously run up to 24 hours using a single battery.

The laptop that has this capability is the new HP EliteBook 6930p. Details of the laptop haven’t been disclosed as press time but the company cleared that the laptop needs a special battery. Users also need to download a special graphics driver and software.

The battery according to the company will definitely run for 24 hours, but just like other batteries, its power length will diminish over time.

Hewlett-Packard logically is happy and excited with their new technology. According to them, the new battery will let workers use a computer all day without worrying about finding a place to plug it in. Experts agree that a 24-hour battery is more than a dream of many mobile computer users, and with the current general battery duration of about 6 to 8 hours, the 24-hour battery is a big improvement.

Ted Clark, a spokesperson of Hewlett-Packard Co. nicknamed the 24-hour battery as “the holy grail” of laptop computing.
