Google unveiled the new Gmail for Mobile 2.0. The new email protocol supports mobile devices such as Nokia N95 and the new BlackBerry phones.
Gmail software engineer said that the focus of improvements in Gmail Mobile 2.0 were solely to fasten the service as well as to increase reliability on the platform. Compared to the previous version of Gmail for Mobile, this is faster and easier to use. The Gmail for Mobile 2.0 removes the hassle in scrolling and general navigation.
Users can now also save multiple e-mail drafts straight from their mobiles. If your phone has a complete QWERTY keyboard, shortcut keys such as ‘z’ to undo, ‘k’ to go to a newer conversation, and ‘j’ to go to an older conversation can easily be used.
This new e-mail protocol also boasts offline support, so users can still access their mails and use the program even without connection. Uses can draft e-mails that will automatically be sent once connection is restored.
