The old moniker that Google knows everything is fast becoming a reality. The introduction of Mobile Search with My Location proves that the search engine doesn’t need to search for you, because it already knows where you are.

The new service, My Location allows Google to give you your exact location by tapping into GPS or Global Positioning System or Cell-ID. The service is currently available on Windows Mobile, so Mac and other OS users do not need to hide themselves, at least none yet.

But seriously, experts see this new service as a great incarnation of the GPS technology. Instead of numbers, users will get proper names of places upon location inquiry.

Originally, the service returned results based on the last location entered. The new Google Search with My Location feature will give you your location in (almost) real time.

Users need to opt in to use the service. Users can also change the service subscription settings anytime. Google announced that there is no personally identifiable information involved in using the My Location service.
