Mozilla Corporation, maker of the world’s mostly used open source browser released a patch for Firefox that is set to solve password problem. The glitch caused users to switch at least temporarily to Microsoft Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.
The bug disabled the password saving feature on the open source browser. Also, users were unable to create new passwords with Firefox. All of this was solved with the release of Firefox version 3.0.3.
On related news, both Internet Explorer and Firefox web browsers suffer a loss in users last month. The drop in number is attributed to the introduction of Google Chrome. The fact that the new browser came from Google and the bug in Firefox contributed to the minor switch.
Most recent statistics however reveal that many users are now coming back to Firefox. Microsoft’s IE still tops the list with nearly 72 percent internet users browsing thru it. Firefox ranked second with 19 percent of the market share. Apple Safari places third with 7 percent.
Google Chrome currently has 1 percent browser share, toppling Open from third position.
