Hori’s new Classic Controller merges the designs of GameCube and Classic controllers, keeping two important factors that make any console controller sell: functionality and design.

The new control has Wii specifc extra buttons, something that will tell you that this peripheral is indeed made for your game. Tech blogges agree that compared to its predecessor that had a general shape, stick layout and shoulder buttons, the latest controller is far better.

But what separates Hori’s game controller from other gamepads is its autofire switch, something that is perfect for trigger happy games like FPS and shoot out games.

The controller is available in two colors: black and white. It will officially be release on December 4 for $30.50.

Compaq released a new version of its Mini 1000 exclusively for the UK market. The new Atom based notebook from HP – Compaq is the company’s contribution to the mini notebook fad that is sweeping the whole world.

There is not much difference between the Mini 1000 and this Mini 700 other than the cheap price of $475. The Mini 700 sports integrated HSDPA radio, the hardware that made the original Mini 1000 very likeable. The new mini laptop has a resolution of 1024 x 576 pixels.

The company has not released yet the full details of the new product, so there is no information yet as to the capacity, GPU system installed, operating system and other information. But with that it is safe to assume that it cannot have specifications more advanced than that of Mini 1000. Reviews however from all over the blogosphere see the gadget one of the most confused product of the year, primarily because the company called it Mini 700 which is digits lower than its supposed predecessor.

Dell will be the first OEM customer of the newly launched self-encrypting laptop hard drive of Seagate called Momentus.

The new data hard ware promises to guard against information theft by using a classic encryption management system.

The hard drive has a capacity of 500GB and it comes along with McAfee software for encryption management. Both the 5,400 RPM and 7,200 RPM drives drives are available for sale, that’s if you’re not much of a Dell fan.

Joni Clark, product marketing manager for Seagate’s Personal Computer Business Unit believes that their product will have a lot of practical and security uses. According to him laptops are being stolen in US every 53 seconds, and 97% of these laptops are never recovered. This makes the use of encrypted hard drive vital.

Users can choose not to use the McAfee encryption management system. This will save them system resources.

Momentus 320GB is now available in the market. The half terabyte version of the encrypted hard drive will start shipping next year.

The announcement was made today, and with that, TiVo box will be able to showcase movies from the popular provider Netflix. TiVo is the latest brand to join the family of devices that deliver Netflix videos.

TiVo users who have TiVo Series 3, TiVo HD, or TiVo HD XL can avail of the service next month at no additional cost according to the management.

This agreement isn’t the first for the two companies. Back in 2004, the two companies tried to form a partnership by developing digital film distribution. Licensing issues and other technical limitations foiled the plan.

iPhone fanatics will soon enjoy the sound of podcasts. This is what is rumoured as the next update of iPhone software version 2.2 this coming month.

According to reports, the update will allow iPhone users to download podcasts straight to their smart phones, removing the need to connect into a desktop Mac or PC system. This, needless to say further strengthens the connectivity of the popular phone.

Originally, the podcaster application was refused access to Apple’s iTunes Store. The company said that it was refused because it simply duplicates the purpose of the iTunes itself. But this will all be history when the upgrade 2.2 comes.

Analysts agree that podcasting on iPhone offers lucrative opportunities, both for users and Apple itself. Podcasts allows users to listen to a number of audio sources, including music and even audio e-books.
The iPhone software version 2.2 will also contain Google Street View’s inclusion in the Maps application.
