Not that MacBook Air is a failure nor anybody would want the king of Macs be dethroned, a lot of tech enthusiasts became excited when Dell confirmed that their latest laptop will rival the legendary MacBook Air.

Dell confirmed that its upcoming Adamo is set to fit against Apple’s MacBook Air. An advertisement posted on a blog contains these enlightening words:

“Rumor has it that Dell is coming out with a computer called Adamo that will rival the MacBook Air. At press time, the company was keeping the product tightly under wraps, but PC users rejoice - word on the street is that something cool is coming your way.”

New York Times discovered the announcement saying that the announcement was a bit “comical once you learn that the company’s confirmation of the product has been sitting in plain sight.”

Dell spokesman, Mr. Kaufman, confirmed that the Adamo blurb entry was actually a Dell ad.

“We did this to wake up the personal computing category and create some buzz,” Mr. Kaufman said.

Adamo’s specifications are still unknown, but since it will be against MacBook Air, experts agree that it will very advanced internals. Nevertheless, the promise that Adamo will be a serious MacBook Air counterpart is a sight that tech bloggers will surely blog about.
