Nokia unveiled what it claims to be the “world’s thinnest smartphone,” the E55.

The Nokia E55 smartphone sports a compact QWERTY keyboard. It is slimmer than E17 yet is not touchscreen. But here’s something that may drive you crazy, according to the press release by Nokia, it has HSDPA and HSUPA and prepare for this, has 28 days standby time. Yes, 28 days or equivalent to 672 hours of power. That goes applies to GSM while you can have 19 days standby time while on WCDMA. Still, inarguably, that is a lot.

Nokia E55 smartphone sports a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, 3.2 megapixel camera, 3.5 mm headphone jack, 802.11 b/g, EGPRS, and Bluetooth 2.0.

It comes with all the Nokia pre-installed apps including Nokia Maps and assisted GPS with integration.

It is tagged at around 265 Euros, subsidized. Expect it very soon in the US.
