Our Review of PC Tools’ Desktop Maestro:

PC Tools’ Desktop Maestro aims to combine three products in one: a registry cleaner, a system optimizer and a privacy cleaner.

With Desktop Maestro, you’re able to make use of PC Tools Software’s Registry Mechanic, a registry cleaner that is highly regarded in the industry. (See our separate review of Registry Mechanic.) In addition to this, you also get Privacy Guardian, PC Tools Software’s privacy protection tool. With Privacy Guardian you don’t have to worry about others snooping on your online activities.

The third aspect that makes up Desktop Maestro is its system optimization features, which is basically a good preventive measure to have to avoid any Windows registry-related problems.

Desktop Maestro offers a free download which we immediately took advantage of; we installed it on one of our test PCs (a Dell P4, 3.40 GHz with 2 gigs of RAM; running on Windows XP Home) and it performed extremely well!
