Canon added power to its already dominant line of cameras with four top of the line units. The G10, the SX10 IS, SD990 IS and SD880 IS are Canon’s latest addition to the PowerShot series.
The G10 kicks out G9 as Canon’s carrier model for the PowerShot camera line
G10 boasts a 28mm wide-angle lens, 5x optical automatic zoom, a whopping 14.7 megapixel sensor and a clear 3.0-inch LCD display.
G10’s Exposure Compensation dial will surely attract digital camera hardcore fanatics. It has a continuous focus tracking system that is perfect for mobile photography.
The SX10 IS on the other hand has a meaner 28mm - 560mm wide-angle lens. It is powered by 20x optical zoom. It has a 10 megapixel sensor, 2.5-inch LCD display. The main feature of SX10 IS is the “MovieSnap” mode, a dual purpose function that allows users to take stills while recording videos!
The SD990 IS and SD880 IS cap Canon’s latest collection. Aside from the revolutionary design, these two cameras boast the same image processor and optical image stabilization chips that is present in all PowerShot units.
The SD990 IS is proud of its 14.7 megapixel resolution. It also has a 3.7x optical zoom and “Quick Shot” mode for faster shutter speed that is perfect for moving subject and intense lighting condition.
The SD880 IS has a 10 MP sensor and 4x wide-angle optical automatic zoom. Image preview is available thru a 3.0-inch clear LCD display.
The G10 can be yours for $499.99. Save $399.99 if you want the SX10 IS. The SD990 IS and SD880 IS on the other hand will be tagged at $399.99 and $299.99 respectively once it is released this October.
