You may be thinking that if manufacturers such as HP, Dell, Cannon, Brother, Epson, nVidia, and many more offer their latest device drivers for FREE, then why would you want to BUY a device driver update tool? The answer is simple: it saves you a ton of time and headaches!

A lot of us take our PCs for granted. We don’t realize just how ‘complicated’ these things are under all that protective covering. And what about the hardware you attach to it? Your printer, fax, scanner, MP3 player, digital camera, USB hub, etc. etc. All these components have their own drivers too.

Sure, you can try and find all these drivers yourself but at the cost of what? Why would you deliberately want to spend hours, or even days on finding a driver when you can just as easily download it from a paid service?

Free Driver Sites

There are sites nowadays that are dedicated to maintaining a database of device drivers. And yes, you can just go to any of these sites, find the driver you need, and download it for free.

What is not highlighted is this problem: you should first KNOW what driver you need. And for many of us, this is just not possible! How can you keep track of each and every component of your PC, and its specific brand and model?

Paid Device Driver Upgrade Tools

With paid driver update services, all you need to do is run the application through your PC. It KNOWS how to detect all its components and then makes a list of them. On this list, the application also lists down the brand, make and model.

The finalized list is compared to its constantly updated database of device drivers. (Reputable driver upgrade services constantly update their databases; sometimes, more than once per day.) After the comparison is made, it tells you which drivers need updating. All you need to do now is download the driver and install it on your computer and you’re done!

If you know which device driver your PC needs, then free driver sites are ok to use. However, if you’re clueless about the components of your system and the hardware connected to it, then a paid driver download service is a better option.

Furthermore, with free sites, you work on the basis of what you know you need. And since most PC parts are not always ‘forthcoming’ and tell you they need an upgrade, you risk having a PC that’s outdated.

With paid services, you don’t need to investigate what your PC needs and which parts need driver updating. The driver upgrade tool is built to do its own investigating and simply inform you of what your PC needs.
