Adobe Systems has just released Photoshop Lightroom 2. This new addition to the Photoshop family boasts 64-bit processing support on 64-bit OS platforms - Windows and Mac OS X. Lightroom is a Photoshop toolbox that is designed to improve total digital image correction and management.
Lightroom is the first Adobe product to work on 64-bit tasks on Intel CPU-based Mac OS X 10.5. It runs on both Macs and 64-bit Windows Vista operating systems. Talk about the software shedding light to cross OS users, it also narrows the gap between hardcore photograph hobbyists and professional photographers.
This new Photoshop toolbox is packed with features. It allows working on multiple monitors for serious designers. It allows users to do non-destructive local image adjustment, batchwise image processing and streamlined search through photo management across multiple hard drives.
This software power ups Photoshop as it allows further photo maneuverability. It has a new batch processing feature that allows viewing and enhancement of multiple photos batch-wise. It also allows management of pictures in different hard drives and computers. This makes effective search indexing much like vista’s indexing capability possible.
Lightbox enables costumed Photoshop experience as users can also choose between various camera profiles that include details about image preferences, editing requirements and others. This allows users to work faster in image projects. Adobe also extended support to over 190 camera models.
Lightroom 2 is available at a retail price of $299, a price increase of $99 from the original.
