It’s the season to be jolly, hi-tech and colourful. This is perhaps what people at NEC had in mind as they release the old L Series with a lot of twists and colors added.
The L series, short for LaVie netbook was originally based on a “ten year old Micron.” The design that tech review sites and blogs like Engadget like very much, not for the sake of beauty and appreciation but for the sake of having something to review, negatively. But the product now returns with a quite a few positive feedback.
The netbook now sports a 15.4-inch, 1280 x 800 LCD display, a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo with Intel graphics, 4GB of memory, 320GB storage. This specification is relatively more advanced than may present small mobile computers. It also has an HDMI out and a FeliCa port. It has a multi-card reader and NEC’s unique NX Pad adding gesture function, much like the PC version of Mac’s trackpad.
LaVie netbook is now available in white, pink, black, and red colors for a price of $1,950.
