Android phones like Google’s very own G1 Android phone will soon be like Apple’s iPhone, at least in one way. This is after Android manufacturers like Google decided to give virtual keypads to their phone, only in the term “soft keyboards.”
Since the release of Android phones its users have longed for virtual keypad. Mixed reviews were also given to the smart phone. Some liked its dissimilarities with iPhone and some did not. G1 Androids uses slide out QWERTY keyboard where users need to pull out first if they want o send a message or real a mail. Others see this as a tedious task comparing the system to the friendlier and easier to use iPhone.
The “soft keyboards” according to Google is a plan that they are including with the future software release for the android phone. Since Google employed open source protocol on their Android software line, the development of soft keyboard software will be fast and it will be ready as early as the first quarter of 2009.
Analysts agree that G1 Android phone lacks one of the things that made its competitor iPhone popular, the virtual keyboard. The inclusion of virtual keyboard in G1 may even level the competition.
