There is no turning back now for Google’s very own browser, Chrome, as it was released and now known to the public after Google accidentally sent out a non-traditional media release.

There have been rumors that the Big G is cooking its own web browser application as early as 2004 and now that it’s out in the internet, there is no use denying it. Anyway, the leakage happened just a day earlier than the planned release of the new browser.

Experts agree that Google’s Chrome will be the real third wheel in the grand battle between Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

Sources indicate that Chrome is a fast, more stable and more secure web browser compared to the present browsers (Big G can take that against IE 8 and the recently released FF 3). Compared to these two, Chrome is designed for the future of web content, and as such it is more inclined into bringing non-text web content such as video, games, internet chat as well as internet banking.

Google accidentally sent a press release in a form of a 38-page comic book to European journalist, it then virally spread online.

“As you may have read in the blogosphere, we hit ’send’ a bit early on a comic book introducing our new open source browser, Google Chrome,” Vice president of product management Sundar Pichai and engineering director Linus Upson said in their blogs.

Chrome will be very much like Mozilla Firefox, in the manner that it is open source. The Big G is now encouraging developers to contribute in the project.
