LG will pimp its mobile phone with superb audio technology. Later this year, the company will add Dolby Mobile audio system to its high-end phones.

This deal will make the South Korea based LG the first phone manufacturer to produce mobile phones that features Dolby’s sound system. Dolby Mobile is a newly completed technology that puts surround sound system compatible with mobile handsets.

Latest mobile phone developments are geared towards improvement of imagery, screen and cameras. Compared to these, there is a little focus given on the mobile audio systems.

Current phone models feature advanced MP3 music player, while this feature focus on giving good music playing capabilities, there are still other mobile phone aspect that can be improved to give quality audio performance. LG sees this as an opportunity to give what handset users really want.

With 8.2 percent share of the mobile phone market throughout the world, LG has already shipped 24.4 million handsets. This numbers are expected to increase with the introduction of the new mobile phone.

The first LG phones with Dolby Mobile will be coming out last quarter of the year. LG also plans to push the technology into high-end never before seen multimedia handsets.
